My son, Jordan Wong spent last week at ABC-Spring Break Week III Baseball Camp. This was his first national camp experience and he was a bit disappointed that he would spend most of his Spring Break at camp. As a resident of Hawaii, getting to camp was no easy task. But I knew we had made the right decision upon conclusion of the Hitting Clinic on Monday when he said that he could not wait to get the "real" camp started the next day.
The entire coaching staff were incredible in their ability to give great instruction and feedback all while helping each camper to maintain their dignity by using lots of humor and making the camp a fun experience. Coach Tim, Coach Ed, Coach Rob and Coach Joe were very supportive of my son and his passion for baseball. As a junior in high school, Jordan was contemplating his ability to play at a varsity level and was even considering going back to his 2nd sport of wrestling next year and giving up baseball altogether.
This past week was like breathing new life into my son. He is excited to pursue his strength training program, look for summer and fall opportunities to play baseball and even pursue playing college ball. It is easy for me to see why this dramatic change in my son has occured. At ABC Camp, Jordan found new friendships, guys that share his passion with baseball and coaches that are determined to mine for and promote each players strengths. The environment is focused on the most admirable qualities of a baseball player and they are dedication, hardwork, and a positive mind which at camp was represented as attitude and effort. The coaching staff are model gentlemen and embody the very best of what baseball has taught to offer my son. Not only did he have a chance to improve his athletic skill, but his life skills as well.
I will highly recommend this camp and plan to send my son, Jordan, and his younger brother to camp in the near future.
