Baseball Camp Testimonials

I wanted to give you feedback from the baseball camp that my son Ryan attended. The camp was fabulous!! As you know Ryan was very hesitant about going into the camp because he had a very bad experience with his coach this spring. He had lost all of his self esteem and confidence especially with batting. My husband and I spent countless hours watching Ryan struggle this year with baseball. His coach sat him on the bench most of the time and would not give him a chance to play. When he did get to play he would get so nervous that he would not even swing his bat. By the end of the season many of the parents had complained to the league that the coaches were more interested in winning than in playing the game, these kids were just 9 years old. We encourage Ryan not to quit the game just because he had a bad coach, he did stick it out but I would hear him crying in his room after the games. Ryan loved the camp! After his first day he said this to me "I am so proud of myself mommy" I am not sure if you are a parent but I have to tell you that as a parent those words brought tears to my eyes. He slept in his baseball uniform the first night of camp.

The staff was unbelievable! I appreciated that they encouraged the parents to stay and watch during the day. They were very nurturing to the kids and at the same time they motivated them to play harder and longer. Most of all they built confidence in all the kids that attended the camp. On a daily basis I could have hugged each of the coaches! My son would come home and tell us all about how much better he was getting. On the third day of the camp I went to the camp to have lunch with Ryan, I stayed to watch them play a game. Ryan walked up to the home plate; I have to tell you I was so nervous. He swung and hit the ball so hard he got a triple. He was smiling the entire time he was running around the bases. When he got to third base he gave me the thumbs up. I had to leave so he would not see me cry. Today was the last day of camp, my thanks to the staff was not enough. They gave Ryan the most valuable gift that he could have received; his self confidence back. Please thank the staff for me! As we were walking away Ryan said "I wish the camp was not over". He loved all the coaches but he especially bonded to Coach Lyle. Thanks again!
