Introduction

Opportunity to meet and learn from Alabama State University baseball coaching staff as well as coaches present from other Universities.

Several Colleges and Universities will be present to Scout/Instruct/Evaluate Players. This is a great way for all 2013 and beyond athletes to be put on the radar.

Detailed Camp Description

This camp is designed to showcase players in front of college coaches. Each player will participate in the 60-yard dash, batting practice, infield/outfield, controlled scrimmages, and various other drills necessary for the coaches to evaluate you player. It is a great way to been seen by several different colleges at all levels of college baseball.

Pitching
Pitchers will be put through college style workouts that emphasize mechanics and velocity. They will also be given an in-depth pitcher specific strength and conditioning program designed to improve all facets of pitching. It is the same program that has helped Coach Melendez' teams lead the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in nearly every major pitching statistic over the last 10 years. They will also throw to hitters live at the end of the day so the coaches can evaluate them in a game situation.

Defense
Infielders and outfielders will be taken through rigorous instruction that focuses on quality reps to improve the fundamentals of fielding. Each player will be broken down defensively and built back up with the proper technique and fundamentals.

Hitting
Each hitter will receive instruction with coaches to improve their swing mechanics and approach at the plate. Hitters will learn the philosophy that has made Coach Melendez' Teams so successful in recent years with a school record 90 home runs and a team batting average over .340 in 2010.

Video Analysis with Coach:
Players will have the option to purchase a DVD video of them performing at the camp. They will have the opportunity to sit down with an ASU coach to go over the video analysis.

Coaches will put together and evaluation based on the video that will point out key mechanical flaws and areas to improve upon. Players will have the option to be filmed fielding, pitching, or hitting.

Equipment
Each camper must bring his own baseball equipment. Players should bring a glove, cleats/spikes hat, and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. Catchers must bring their own gear.

Meals will not be provided for this session. Please bring a lunch from home.

Miscellaneous Information

What if I have to cancel a camp?
We do not offer refunds on cancelled campers, just a future camp credit if you decide to cancel, but we do have what is called "Cancellation Protection".
We offer basic Cancellation Protection to allow participants some peace of mind in case plans change. This allows us to keep our prices low and provide the best service possible. Due at the time of registration, Cancellation Protection entitles you to a full refund of camp fees should you cancel your registration more than 14 days prior to the start of an overnight camp, and 7 days prior to the start of a day camp. If you cancel within 14 or 7 days of the start of your session, we will give you a camp credit for all money paid. The credit is valid for three years from camp date at any of our national locations.
Credit with insurance is transferable to family members or friends, and good toward a future camp.

Medical Release

Medical forms will be attached to your e-mailed receipt and are available on-line. Please print fill out and bring to camp.

Camp Merchandise

Alabama State University Baseball merchandise will be available for purchase at this event.

Camp Hotel / Dorm Information

This is not an "overnight" camp. Players traveling from out of town will be responsible for securing their own accommodations.
