Developmental Become a Cavalier Camp

UVa-Davenport Field, Charlottesville, VA, Virginia

Ages: Grades 9-12

Cost: $899.00

Introduction

This luxury camp provides an excellent opportunity for 9th-12th-graders to be instructed by and compete in front of the UVA coaching staff, while also receiving the true UVA Player experience.

This special camp is limited to only 35 campers, who will stay in the UVA First-Year Residence Halls, be given their own personalized locker, and will receive a game jersey, a game hat, wrist bands, and 2 authentic UVA T-shirts.

Camp activities will consist of offensive/defensive skill sessions, pro-style workout, and simulated games. Campers will receive an evaluation from the Virginia coaching staff as well as a DVD of their performance at camp.

For a player who is looking to have the most hands on instruction and evaluation by our staff, this camp provides the best opportunity with great player to coach ratios and the most access to our teaching facilities.

Daily Schedule:
Wednesday 4pm - 9pm
Thursday 9am - 9pm
Friday 9am - 12pm

Each camper must bring his own baseball equipment. Players should bring a glove, bat, cleats/spikes, hat, and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. Catchers must bring their own gear. Helmets will be provided. Every camper in attendance will be given a numbered UVa Baseball T-Shirt to be worn during camp. However, all campers must bring their own baseball pants. The University of Virginia Baseball program will not be responsible for lost items.

Atlantic Coast Camps, L.L.C. was founded by UVa Head Coach Brian O'Connor in 2003. Maximizing your ability as a baseball player takes the desire to work and master your skills through repetition, but it begins with learning the proper techniques. It is our mission to create a highly organized, energetic, and fun learning environment in which to provide the best possible instruction in all phases of the game. In addition to the instruction, our Developmental and Prospect Camps offer an inside look at the UVa Baseball program, it's coaches, and the physical and mental skills taught to its players. Attention
Do to renovations to Davenport Field we will be using an off-site field for the games. All instruction will take place on facilities on the grounds of the University of Virginia. The other areas of the Davenport Stadium facility will still be used. If you have questions please contact Asst. Coach Matt Kirby by email at mkirby@virginia.edu.

Please check your email regularly as this is our primary way we communicate. Any additional information that we need to convey as the camp draws closer will be passed on to you via the e-mail address that you supplied CBC when you signed up for camp. Please make it a habit to check your e-mail daily, this will eliminate any confusion and or miscommunication.

From the East/West:
Take I-64 to exit 118B (Culpeper-Charlottesville). Take second exit (sign will say University of Virginia Information Center and Business 250 East) and bear right onto Ivy Rd. At second stoplight, turn left on to Copeley Rd. The baseball field is behind the track on the left and not visible from the road. Parking is available in the gravel lot adjacent to the stadium.

From the North:
Take Route 29 south into Charlottesville (Emmet St.). Turn right at Massie Rd. Go to the next stoplight and turn left onto Copeley Rd. The baseball field is behind the track on the right and not visible from the road. Parking is available in the gravel lot adjacent to the stadium.

From the South:
Take Route 29 to Business Route 250 East (sign will say University of Virginia Information Center) and bear right onto Ivy Rd. At second stoplight, turn left onto Copeley Rd. The baseball field is behind the track on the left and not visible from the road. Parking is available in the gravel lot adjacent to the stadium. .

The setting for the Atlantic Coast Camps is the nationally renowned grounds of the University of Virginia, located in beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia. The on-field camp will take place at Davenport Field. This state-of-the-art facility has been rated in the top 15 nationally for best college baseball venues and seats up to 5,074 Cavalier fans. In addition to one of the finest playing surfaces in the country, the facility is equipped with indoor and outdoor batting cages, six bullpen mounds (two indoors), and a major league-style clubhouse complete with a training room and weights. The indoor hitting facility is equipped with 3 full cages, soft toss and tee areas, four pitching machines and artificial turf flooring.

Miscellaneous Information

Refund policy:
After receipt of application, refunds will be given if a player is unable to attend due to accident or injury. The refund will be full with the exception of $100 which is needed to cover expenses such as insurance and meals. If the refund is requested within 7 days of the camp the player will be refunded in full with credit toward a future camp. Scheduling conflicts are not cause for refund .

Atlantic Coast Camps is sponsored and run by Coach O'Connor, and it may be held at the University of Virginia and use some of the University's facilities. However, Atlantic Coast Camps is not sponsored or run by the University, and the Coach and Coach's assistant's are not employees are agents of the University in their operating the camp.

Medical Release

INSURANCE
The cost for the treatment of injuries and hospitalization for illness or injuries incurred during the camps will be the responsibility of the parent or guardian of the participant. Each participant must have a liability/ medical release authorization form signed by a parent/ guardian and a photocopy of the front and back of your insurance card must be provided.
