Introduction

The 3rd Annual Mid-August Showcase at the University of Maryland offers a unique baseball learning opportunity for the high school player. We invite you to join us at the end of the summer for an exciting session of baseball.

The Mid-August Showcase has been developed as a highly instructional baseball experience geared towards each player's individual exposure.

Every college and university in Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, New Jersey, and West Virginia have been invited to attend this year's event. Don't miss out for one last opportunity before school starts to showcase your ability in front of numerous college coaches.

The Mid-August Showcase will evaluate your abilities, teach detailed skills and enlighten you to the college game. This will be accomplished in a highly organized professional environment. All players will also be exposed to the scenic campus of the University of Maryland.

If you have the desire to improve your game, expose your skills, open college doors, and work with highly qualified coaches, this event is essential for your development.

This list will be updated as each college or university commits to attend camp.

The camp is designed for the advanced high school player (grades 9-12) who has aspirations of playing at the highest level. Players will be grouped according to position. Seniors in high school may attend and are encouraged. Enrollment will be limited and is only guaranteed on a first-come, first serve basis. Reserve a spot now as the camp will fill quickly.

09:00am - 12:00pm: Defensive Instruction
12:00am - 12:30 pm: Lunch
12:30pm - 04:00pm: Defensive/Offensive Stations
04:00pm - 05:00pm: Break out session on Strength / Speed & Agility / Nutrition
05:00pm Camp Ends

Sunday, Aug 12th
08:30am Players Arrive at Shipley Field
09:00am - 05:00 pm: Live Games

Evaluation / Feedback
We will give feedback during camp, but we do not provide a written evaluation of every camper.

Equipment
Each player is encouraged to come in a uniform (high school, legion or summer team). Each Player must bring his own baseball equipment. Players should bring a glove, bat, cleats, running shoes/turf shoes, hat, and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. Catchers must bring their own gear. Helmets will be provided.

Please check your email regularly as this is our primary way we communicate. Any additional information that we need to convey as the camp draws closer will be passed on to you via the e-mail address that you supplied when you signed up for camp. Please make it a habit to check your e-mail daily, this will eliminate any confusion and or miscommunication.

Camp Check-in Information

Check in will take place on Saturday, August 11th from 8:30 am to 9:00 am at Bob Turtle Smith Stadium.

All camp activities are conducted on the campus of The University of Maryland in Historic College Park, Maryland. The campus is serviced by I-95 and is just east of the highway between exits 123 from the south and 128 from the north.

From I 95: Take I-495 to exit 25B, U.S. Route 1 South, College Park. Proceed about 2 miles and turn right onto Campus Drive.

Once on campus: Proceed to the roundabout and take the second exit. Continue to parking lot adjacent to Byrd Stadium. Enter into main entrance of Bob Turtle Smith Stadium.

We Do Not offer refunds for cancellations, only camp credit towards any future Erik Bakich Elite Baseball Camps

Camp Merchandise

Maryland University Baseball merchandise will be available to purchase while at camp.

Camp Hotel / Dorm Information

This is not an "overnight" camp. Players traveling from out of town will be responsible for securing their own hotel accommodations.

The preferred camp hotel for Erik Bakich baseball camps is the Quality Inn and Suites located approximately 3 blocks from the University of Maryland Campus. Please call at 301-276-1000 and ask for the Maryland Baseball Camp rate.

Airport Pickup / Dropoff Information

If flying to camp. You can either fly into BWI located Baltimore, MD or Reagan International located in Washington, DC. Both airports are roughly 30 minutes from the University of Maryland.
