Introduction
This camp is designed to give the high school baseball player the knowledge and instruction necessary to get him to the next level.
Advanced Instruction will be given throughout the week on the necessary skills required to play at the college level. Repetition will be a major part of this camp. Each camper will receive hundreds of reps with coaches working with them throughout to correct flaws and improve fundamentals both defensively and offensively.
Players will also participate in controlled scrimmages at the end of each day with the coaching staff working closely with them to improve game performance.
All campers receive a ASU Baseball Camp T-shirt!
Detailed Camp Description
Pitching:
Pitchers will be put through college style workouts that emphasize mechanics and velocity. They will also be given an in-depth pitcher specific strength and conditioning program designed to improve all facets of pitching. It is the same program that has led the that Coach Melendez team's have used over the last decade and helped them lead in nearly every major pitching statistic over the last 10 years. Furthermore, Melendez has also seen 4 pitchers selected in the major league baseball draft in the last three seasons.
Defense:
Infielders and outfielders will be taken through rigorous instruction that focuses on quality reps to improve the fundamentals of fielding. Each player will be broken down defensively and built back up with the proper technique and fundamentals.
Hitting:
Each hitter will receive one on one instruction with coaches to improve their swing mechanics and approach at the plate. Hitters will learn the philosophy that has made Coach Melendez hitter's so successful in recent years with a school record 90 home runs and a team batting average over .340 in 2010.
Conditioning:
At the end of each day players will be put through a strength and conditioning workout designed to improve speed, flexibility, core strength, and injury prevention.

Video Analysis with Coach:
Players will have the option to purchase a DVD video of them performing at the camp. They will have the opportunity to sit down with an ASU coach to go over the video analysis.
Coaches will put together and evaluation based on the video that will point out key mechanical flaws and areas to improve upon. Players will have the option to be filmed fielding, pitching, or hitting.

Equipment Each camper must bring his own baseball equipment. Players should bring a glove, bat, batting gloves, helmet, cleats/spikes, running shoes or turf shoes, hat, and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. Catchers must bring their own catchers gear. Please mark camper's names on all items. The camp is not responsible for lost belongings.

Free parking around the ASU Baseball Complex and on the ASU Campus.
Meals / Snacks
Parents and players will be able to purchase lunches prior to the start of the camp for $6. The lunch will be at the ASU cafeteria and is a buffet.

Miscellaneous Information
What if I have to cancel a camp?
We do not offer refunds on cancelled campers, just a future camp credit if you decide to cancel, but we do have what is called "Cancellation Protection".
We offer basic Cancellation Protection to allow participants some peace of mind in case plans change. This allows us to keep our prices low and provide the best service possible. Due at the time of registration, Cancellation Protection entitles you to a full refund of camp fees should you cancel your registration more than 14 days prior to the start of an overnight camp, and 7 days prior to the start of a day camp. If you cancel within 14 or 7 days of the start of your session, we will give you a camp credit for all money paid. The credit is valid for three years from camp date.
Credit with insurance is transferable to family members or friends, and good toward a future camp.
Medical Release
Medical forms will be attached to your e-mailed receipt and are available on-line. Please print fill out and bring to camp.
Camp Merchandise
Parents and players will be able to purchase ASU Baseball Hats and Apparel during the camp.
