Sun Devil Baseball Summer Pitching/Catching Camp

Packard Stadium-Tempe,, Arizona

Ages: 12-18

Cost: $349.00

Introduction

This specialized camp is for pitchers and catchers who are serious about their future in baseball. Campers will go through three days of intense training. A routine is established for the camper that focuses on specific areas needed for success in college and professional baseball. Each camper will be working with top collegiate coaches from Arizona State, current Sun Devil players, and others.

Pitchers:
You will learn to become a complete pitcher at the Sun Devil Baseball Camps. If it is your goal to excel from the youth level through collegiate baseball and eventually onto professional baseball, it is necessary to be equipped with the right skills. At our camps, you will be exposed to proper pitching mechanics, top-of-the-line arm strength & conditioning programs, fielding your position and, most importantly, tools to develop mental strength.

Developing the correct mechanics is crucial in maximizing your pitch location, velocity, and stamina. With the simple mechanical properties you can maximize your potential. The proper mechanics are crucial in order to take the stress and pressure off the arm and keep it healthy. This allows your body to throw the ball effortlessly to maximize velocity and locate your pitches.

Everyone knows that there is more to pitching than just throwing a baseball. In order to become a successful pitcher, you must be in good health and in great condition. Being in great shape and having a healthy arm will help maximize your performance. Many players are plagued with arm injuries that could have been prevented. Here at Arizona State, we take arm strength and conditioning very serious. We set a specific time aside at our camps to explain and demonstrate the proper techniques of these exercises.

Catchers:
Working with campers in small groups, instructors will be able to focus on each individual camper's development. Campers will go through the same defensive drills and exercises as the Arizona State catchers. Campers will learn how to give signals properly and how to receive pitches in a manner that makes the pitcher more confident - both of which contribute to a positive pitcher/catcher relationship.

Catchers will be taught proper blocking and throwing techniques and will also learn the right way to play around home plate, such as fielding bunts, catching a popup, and blocking the plate on a play at home. Campers are encouraged to ask any questions they have so that they can leave the camp a better ballplayer, both mentally and physically.

A Final Word:
The most important aspect of our program at ASU is our mental approach to baseball. We rely heavily on a strong baseball mentality in order to succeed. It is this element of your game that will allow you to move up the ladder of organized baseball. You will have an opportunity to hear from our coaches and players on how they apply it to their own lifestyle and why it makes a difference.

Open to All Entrants within the age range.
