Introduction
Thank you for your interest in the 2012 Santiago Athletic Institute Midwest Prospect Identification (MPI) Top Gun College Coaches Camp in Akron, Ohio.
The Camp is designed for the committed baseball player ages 14-18. The emphasis of the camp will be to develop individual skills through instruction. All instruction will be done by our great staff of college coaches.
All aspects of baseball will be covered and available for each participant. Players can choose a specific skill to work on in the morning sessions and use that skill in the afternoon. Real time Game Instruction will be the main focus in the afternoon with everything from live batting practice, cage work, bunting and small group mechanical seminars.
Detailed Camp Description
MPI College Camps encourage ball players to reach their maximum potential both on and off the baseball field. Additionally students will learn from the best programs in the Midwest and have college coaches on the same field for instruction. This will be the closest experience to a college practice allowed by NCAA regulations. Students will practice and communicate with college coaches directly on the field. Athletes participating in our programs will learn the importance of scholastics, fundamentals, attitude, character, dedication, work ethic, team play and the importance of striving for excellence.

About The Staff
Camp President Coach Santiago:
DJ Santiago is a former professional player with the Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds organizations. He has also coached with the following programs: Cuyahoga Community College (02',03') Urbana University(04'05,06'), USA Baseball (10',11') Rockford Riverhawks( 07') and is currently a scout with Cleveland Indians.
Field Coordinator Brian Harrison:
Coach Harrison came to Baldwin Wallace following a three-year stint at Dayton where his responsibilities included hitting, outfielders and recruiting. While at Dayton, the Flyers improved offensively in almost every category. In 2009, Dayton won its first Atlantic 10 Conference Championship in school history behind the 21st ranked offense in all of NCAA Division I baseball.
Prior to his time at Dayton, Coach Harrison served as the head coach at NAIA Urbana University and turned the Blue Knight program into a winner. After going 7-43 in 2005, he coached the Knights to a 37-21 record and a second-place finish in the American Mideast Conference's South Division and a fourth-place finish in the Region IX Tournament in 2006. For his efforts, Coach Harrison was named AMC South Division Coach of the Year. The 30-win difference was one of the best single-season turnarounds in NAIA history. Coach Harrison did it again in 2007 by leading Urbana to a 32-21 record. That marked the fourth time in five years as a head coach that Harrison's teams amassed 30 or more victories in a single season. Coach Harrison had a 76-85 career mark at Urbana, including a very solid, 69-42 slate the last two seasons.
Prior to Urbana, Coach Harrison was head coach at nearby Cuyahoga Community College, located in Parma Heights, Ohio. In his first season in 2003, Coach Harrison's Challengers came within one victory of the school record and had their first winning season in eight years. The team improved its win total from 16 in 2002 to 35 in 2003 and set 15 school records in the process. His career mark at CCC was 65-41 overall. He also served as an associate scout for the Cincinnati Reds from 2004-2005.
As a standout collegiate player at NAIA Shawnee State University, Coach Harrison had more than 40 career homeruns and 200 RBI. He earned NAIA All-America honors after leading the Bears to a fifth-place finish at the 2000 NAIA College World Series and was later named to the Shawnee State Hall of Fame. He then continued his baseball career at the professional level for two years before deciding to join the coaching ranks.

Miscellaneous Information
What if I have to cancel a camp?
We do not offer refunds on canceled campers, just a future camp credit if you decide to cancel, but we do have what is called "Cancellation Protection".
We offer basic Cancellation Protection to allow participants some peace of mind in case plans change. This allows us to keep our prices low and provide the best service possible. Due at the time of registration, Cancellation Protection entitles you to a full refund of camp fees should you cancel your registration more than 14 days prior to the start of an overnight camp, and 7 days prior to the start of a day camp. If you cancel within 14 or 7 days of the start of your session, we will give you a camp credit for all money paid.
The credit is valid for three years from camp date. Credit with insurance is transferable to family members or friends, and good toward a future camp.
